On this day, the board of directors appointed Seon-young Kang, CEO of SHENB, and Sung-wook Kang, CEO of GE Healthcare Korea, as directors.
SHENB is a medical device manufacturing and distribution company in the field of skin beauty, and was selected as a'global hidden champion' by the Ministry of SMEs last year. GE Healthcare Korea is a global healthcare company with expertise in various fields such as medical imaging/information, diagnosis, and patient monitoring systems. As a result of this new director election, a total of 34 members including Lee Gyeong-guk, chairman of the association, were the 8th executives of the association.
The board of directors then decided to hold the regular general meeting next year on February 26th, the same as this year. In addition, by looking at the results of the recent event hosted by the association, they discussed various concerns facing the medical device industry. In relation to the charity golf tournament, where the size of the tournament and donations are being expanded every year, the use of donations was discussed.
President Lee expressed his opinion, saying, "Currently, the donations collected at the charity golf tournament are being used for mobile health check-ups and overseas medical services for children and the elderly, but it would be better to expand social contribution activities in a variety of ways in the future." In addition, there were reports on the plan to join the'Disgnostic Imaging and Therapy Systems Trade Associations (DITTA)' and reinforcement of the exhibition business.
DITTA membership is promoted for the purpose of smooth operation of the International Medical Device Regulatory Authority Forum (IMDRF) and to play a leading role in promoting international harmonization of the domestic medical device system as a representative medical device organization. Unanimously, it approved the promotion of DITTA membership. Accordingly, the association plans to complete DITTA membership within this year.
On the other hand, the next board of directors, scheduled for December 11th, will evaluate the project to be implemented this year and review the project and budget plan for next year.
