The Korea Medical Device Industry Association (Chairman Lee Gyeong-guk) held the 5th board meeting in the conference room of the association on the 16th. On this day, the board of directors appointed Seon-young Kang, CEO of SHENB, and Sung-wook Kang, CEO of GE Healthcare Korea, as directors.

 

SHENB is a medical device manufacturing and distribution company in the field of skin beauty, and was selected as a'global hidden champion' by the Ministry of SMEs last year. GE Healthcare Korea is a global healthcare company with expertise in various fields such as medical imaging/information, diagnosis, and patient monitoring systems. As a result of this new director election, a total of 34 members including Lee Gyeong-guk, chairman of the association, were the 8th executives of the association.

 

The board of directors then decided to hold the regular general meeting next year on February 26th, the same as this year. In addition, by looking at the results of the recent event hosted by the association, they discussed various concerns facing the medical device industry. On the 6th of last month, the association held big events during the month of September, including the 20th anniversary ceremony, the 4th medical device industry award, the 16th regular forum, the medical device and cosmetics recruitment fair on the 17th, and the charity golf tournament on the 30th. have.

 

President Lee Gyeong-guk said, "There were many events in September, and it was held successfully with great interest and support." “It was a place to confirm the growth of the medical device industry, but on the other hand, it was confirmed that the public and employed people's awareness of medical device companies is still low.” “In the future, efforts of the association are required to raise public awareness of the medical device industry. In relation to the charity golf tournament, where the size of the tournament and donations are being expanded every year, the use of donations was discussed.

President Lee expressed his opinion, saying, "Currently, the donations collected at the charity golf tournament are being used for mobile health check-ups and overseas medical services for children and the elderly, but it would be better to expand social contribution activities in a variety of ways in the future." In addition, discussions were held on the payment improvement TFT. The association recently decided to operate a gannap improvement TFT as there were voices of concern about the movement of gangnaphtha both inside and outside the industry, and asked for the participation of related industries.

 

The association's vice chairman Yoo Chul-wook, who served as the chairman of the negligence improvement TFT, said, "As the wholesale price of negligence changes in various ways and the industry is concerned about damage, we decided to operate the association's negligible improvement TFT." It encouraged the high industry to participate in TFT.

 

He added, "It is necessary to identify priorities such as issues that need to be addressed urgently and set short-term and long-term goals," he added. "Please provide an accurate opinion on improvement matters."

In addition, there were reports on the plan to join the'Disgnostic Imaging and Therapy Systems Trade Associations (DITTA)' and reinforcement of the exhibition business.

 

DITTA membership is promoted for the purpose of smooth operation of the International Medical Device Regulatory Authority Forum (IMDRF) and to play a leading role in promoting international harmonization of the domestic medical device system as a representative medical device organization. Unanimously, it approved the promotion of DITTA membership. Accordingly, the association plans to complete DITTA membership within this year.

 

On the other hand, the next board of directors, scheduled for December 11th, will evaluate the project to be implemented this year and review the project and budget plan for next year.
